Each day of school I revel in the satisfaction of our stress free, yet challenging educational community.
Without the threat and inequity of punishments and rewards (grades and other external carrots and sticks) learning is its own reward, so we are self motivated, community oriented and collaborative.
Sugarwood Friends cheer their classmates endeavors, they gratefully accept responsibility for their behaviors, yes!, And they love math, science, reading, nature, friendship, and are so grateful for their opportunities to learn.
Each day I breathe deeply in appreciation for this opportunity of teach and learn together cooperatively.
It’s self evident that a ‘low affective filter’ enhances our ability to engage in happy learning! My hope is that one day all children everywhere will enjoy schools like this one.
