Each child participates in multiple musical experiences everyday with individual instruction, practice and performance in violin, recorder, percussion, musical notation, voice, dance, rhythm and movement. Music is purposefully used to enhance math, language and science concepts. The Arts lend themselves to activities that reinforce learning with movement, dance, writing, voice, instruments, acting, drawing, painting.
Integrating the Arts throughout our studies provides us with experiences that bridge gaps in our cognitive abilities as nothing else can!
“Sugarwood’s extensive music program was highly important when considering our daughter’s school. After our first visit to the the school we were in ‘awe‘ of the musical knowledge of the Sugarwood students at such a young age. Our daughter now understands rhythms, how to read music, plays recorder and the violin – and that is only after her first few months!” — Cupoli Family
